The 2022 U.S.-China Agricultural Roundtable Conference, jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the United States Heartland China Association (USHCA), was opened on March 22, via video link.

  During the province-to-state dialogue, official from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province, directors of the Department of Agriculture of Oklahoma and Kansas, as well as business representatives respectively introduced their local characteristic and advantageous sectors in agriculture industry and expressed their desire to expand cooperation.

  Official from Hubei said that Hubei is a major province in agriculture. Its output of grain has remained above 50 billion catties for nine years and output of freshwater aquatic products has ranked the first in China for 26 consecutive years. In 2021, the province’s total agricultural exports reached 2.73 billion U.S.dollars, a record high.

  Hubei is willing to deepen cooperation with Oklahoma, Kansas and other  regions in the hinterland of the U.S. in the fields of agricultural science and technology personnel exchange, agricultural product storage, quality testing and deep processing, embryo transfer technology of dairy cattle, water-saving agriculture, etc., so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, he added.

  It is the second consecutive year for Hubei to participate in the roundtable conference.
