The Optics Valley of China, also called Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, is placed fifth among China's advanced manufacturing industrial parks, according to a report recently released by CCID Consulting, a firm affiliated with a think tank under the Ministry of Industry and Information.
The report selected 218 economic development zones and 168 high-tech zones at national level as the research objects to evaluate the comprehensive development level of advanced manufacturing industry in national industrial parks.
The report unveiled the list of top 100 advanced manufacturing industrial parks in China, showing that Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone is ranked fifth, and is topped by Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, Shenzhen High-tech Industrial Park, Shanghai Zhangjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone and Suzhou Industrial Park.
The East Lake High-tech Development Zone has now developed into the world's largest R&D base of optical fiber and cable, the country's largest R&D and production base of optical devices, and the country's largest laser industry base.
In addition, the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Xiangyang High-tech Zone and Yichang High-tech Zone in Hubei have also been shown on the list.
