The gross domestic product (GDP) of Hubei Province reached over 6 trillion yuan in 2024, with a year-on-year increase of 5.8 percent, local authorities said on Wednesday.

  The respective added values of Hubei's primary, secondary and tertiary industries were 546.218 billion yuan, 2.157376 trillion yuan and 3.297703 trillion yuan, up 3.1 percent, 6.4 percent and 5.9 percent.

  The added value of industries above designated size registered an increase of 7.7 percent year on year, 1.9 percentage points higher than the national level,while those of high-tech manufacturing sector surged by 22.7 percent.

  Hubei’s investment in fixed assets rose 6.5 percent year on year over the same period,3.3 percentage points higher than the national level. The total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 2.52767 trillion yuan, ascending by 5.1 percent year on year. And the province's foreign trade represented a year-on-year growth of 9.6 percent to 705.84 billion yuan in 2024.

  In 2024,the province’s per capita personal consumption expenditures (PCE) of urban and rural residents stood at 32,473 yuan and 21,326 yuan, up3.1 percent and1.9 percent, respectively. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
