Hubei Province saw foreign trade reach184.16 billion yuan in the first four months of 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 14.9 percent, local customs said on May 13.
Of the total, exports posted 120.45 billion yuan, up 22.7 percent from the same period last year, while imports gained 2.6 percent to 63.71 billion yuan.
Hubei’s imports and exports of general trade amounted to 132.74 billion yuan in the January-April period, accounting for 72.1percent of the province's total foreign trade volume. Processing trade expanded 10.1 percent to 24.58 billion yuan and bonded logistics reached 21.08 billion yuan, jumping by 59.5 percent year on year.
The province's foreign trade with its top three trading partners - ASEAN, the European Union and the United States - stood at 27.3 billion yuan, 23.19 billion yuan and 20.9 billion yuan, respectively.
During the same period, the trade with trading RCEP partners and countries along the Belt and Road added up to 55.38 billion yuan and 50.77 billion yuan, respectively.
The imports and exports of private enterprises ascended by 3.8 percent year on year to 111.75 billion yuan, contributing more than 60 percent to the province’s foreign trade.
Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, totaled 111.63 billion yuan in foreign trade, accounting for 60 percent of the province’s total from January to April, followed by Huangshi city with 13.08 billion yuan.
In the four months, the exports of mechanical and electrical products stood at 62.92 billion yuan, accounting for over 50 percent of the province’s total exports. The imports of bulk commodities registered rapid growth.
