Wuhan will continue to restore and repair the ecological landscape along the riverside of the Yangtze River in recent years, building an ecological corridor of hundreds of kilometers in the city, according to a press conference held on May 11, 2022.

  The project in urban area is estimated to be basically connected by the end of this year, said local water affairs bureau at the press conference.

  Stretching 284 kilometers along the riverside of Yangtze River and 112 kilometers along the riverside of Hanjiang River, the project is positioned as a demonstration of ecological protection of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, a sample of great protection of the Yangtze River and a model of world-class waterfront space.

  Wuhan has completed the construction of six sub projects in urban area along the Yangtze River last year. At present, another four are under construction and five are forging ahead.

  By the end of this year, the projects along the riverside in urban area are expected to be joined together. And by 2025, the whole ecological project is expected to take shape.
