High-speed rail service between Wuhan and Zhangjiajie launched

  The Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua high-speed railway in central China's Hunan Province was officially put into use on December 6.

  Henceforth, it only takes 4 hours and 5 hours from Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, to Fenghuang (Phoenix) Ancient Town and Zhangjiajie West Railway Station by high-speed rail.

  Crowned as the "most beautiful high-speed railway in western Hunan", the 245-km line has seven stations, connecting many famous scenic spots including the famous resort of Fenghuang (Phoenix) Ancient Town.

  The railway passes through 90 percent of bridges and tunnels, and less than 10 percent of the flat-land route with a designed speed of 350km/h.
