Hubei's foreign trade exceeds 200 bln yuan in first five months

  Hubei saw its foreign trade grow by 54.8 percent year on year to 202.04 billion yuan in the first five months of 2021, 26.6 percentage points higher than the national average, according to statistics released by the Wuhan Customs on June 10.

  The province's exports soared by 66 percent year on year to 124.44 billion yuan during the period, while its imports climbed by 39.7 percent to 77.6 billion yuan, 35.9 and 13.8 percentage points higher than the national average respectively.

  In the first five months, Hubei's foreign trade reached 149.34 billion yuan in general trade, which accounted for 73.9 percent of the province's total import and export value. Imports and exports by processing trade stood at 26.77 billion yuan.

  The foreign trade by private enterprises in Hubei totaled 116.06 billion yuan, a 79.9-percent growth year on year, accounting for 57.4 percent of the province's total.

  Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, registered a year-on-year increase of 52.6 percent to hit 125.99 billion yuan, contributing 62.4 percent to the province's total. (Source: en.hubei.gov.cn 06/15/2021)
