The road show of the second China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair came to Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province on May 12. Hubei delegation is going to participate in the expo for the first time.
Co-sponsored by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Zhejiang provincial government, the expo is slated for June 8-11, in the famous harbor city of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the largest import and export fairs in China.
Hubei and the CEE countries are both important nodes along the Belt and Road. They share similar geographic location, complementary industrial structures, and closely-related history and culture. Especially in recent years, the two sides have seen frequent exchanges and closer business ties.
Trade between Hubei and CEE countries rose to 10.9 billion yuan in 2020, surging 8.5 percent year on year, and in the first quarter of 2021, the figure climbing 108.3 percent to 3.1 billion yuan. The deals between the two sides, with Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania as Hubei’s top three trading partners, were mainly reached in the fields of steel, auto parts, optical fiber communications, marine equipment, pharmaceuticals, textiles and clothing, data showed.
