From July 4thto 6th, "Hubei Day" of International HorticulturalExhibition 2019 Beijing China showed more shinning points for the Expo. Withthe theme “Expecting Guests amidst Lofty Mountains and Flowing Water”, CCPITHubei organized a series of activities including opening ceremony, “Green Life,Green Hubei” photographic exhibitions, the 6th Sino-French Urban SustainableDevelopment Forum, Sino-German Jingzhou Ecological Demonstration City Seminar,Jing-Chu cultural performance and exhibitions of Hubei’s intangible culturalheritage, concentratedly showing achievements since Hubei opened up.
For recent years,Hubei has taken Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristicsfor a New Era as guideline, implemented Xi Jinping thought on ecologicalcivilization, always keeping in mind that lucid waters and lush mountains areinvaluable assets, improving environment is to develop our capacity, insisted ongreen development as the key to Hubei ecological construction, consistentlystrengthened ecological conservation and environmental protection , declared campaignsfor blue sky, lucid water and clean earth, protected the Yangtze River byremoving chemical factories along and other nine measures, made progress in tenstrategic measures for green development along Yangtze Economic Belt coveringindustries, towns and transportation, made Hubei even greener, and developscientifically.
Opening ceremonyof Hubei Day was held in meeting hall of Tongxing Square. About 200 guestsincluding representatives from government, international organizations,embassies, foreign pavilions, international chambers and companies attended theevent. Deputy Secretary General of Hubei Government Mr. Liu Zhongchu was themoderator of the meeting. Vice Governor Mr. Zhao Haishan delivered a speech. Heexpressed hopes to promote green development mode and life together with all guests,and build a green home with lucid waters, lush mountains and blue sky for allhuman beings. Chief Representative of China of the Expo Mr. Chen Zhou, Vicepresident of International Association of Horticultural Producers Mr. ZhangQixiang, Director General of International Network for Bamboo and Rattan Mr.Ali-Mchumo, Ambassador of the Republic of Iceland Mr. Gunnar Snorri Gunnarssonhad delivered speeches separately. All the guests watched Jing-Chu culturalperformance together.
The “Green Life,Green Hubei” photographic exhibition on Tongxing Square showed achievements onecological conservation and green development of Hubei by four parts, includingecological restoration, environment protection, green development and beautifulhome. Splendid pictures attracted lots of visitors.
Jing-Chu culturalperformance on lawn theater showed unique charm of Jing-Chu Culture. The danceChu Yun showed the elegance of Kingdom Chu. The song Yangtze River and HanRiver showed Hubei’s new image in this new era. Instrumental ensemble GreenPassion showed happy life of Hubei people. Also there were poplar folk songs.
Theme of Hubei’sIntangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition is Green & Delicate & Romantic.The masters exhibited lacquer work, moxa-moxibustion, paper cutting, clothpictures, wood carving and so on.
On Great People inHubei Forum held in Botanical Pavilion, guests had a deep conversation onsignificance and mission for Hubei to play a key role in green high-qualitydevelopment and compose a harmonious chapter of innovation and environmentprotection. Leaders from different industries in Hubei initiated making greenhigh-quality development in Hubei, Ms. Zhou Caijuan announced the initiative.
The Hubei Garden epitomizesecological conservation in Hubei. Resembling a multicolored feather phoenixdancing in the sky, it displays river, music, bamboo slip writing, people,mountain, water and phoenix culture in Hubei.
Hubei indoorexhibition in China Pavilion was designed with a theme of "Phoenix Dancingamong Wonders", exhibits potted landscape, flower arrangement, orchid and succulent.the King of potted landscape in China and treasure of Hubei Garden are alsoshown.
On lawn theater,Hubei prepared local products as gifts for visitors, including Yihong black teafrom Hubei Provincial Tea Group, Enshi green tea, Wuxue crispy sugar andChinese yam noodle, biological soft drink, Huangshi pidan, lotus leaf tea andrapeseed oil.
5,000 visitorstook part in stamps collection activity. They fetched a Hubei Day fan atentrances of the Expo, and collected different stamps at Tongxing Square, HubeiGarden and Lawn Theater, and can get a gift by 3 stamps on the fan. 500 HubeiDay hats are also sent as gifts.
On July 5th, the6th Sino-French Urban Sustainable Development Forum will be held on Hubei WuhanDay. Experts and entrepreneurs from Hubei and France will have deep discussionand share experience on construction of Sino-French Wuhan EcologicalDemonstration City.
On July 6th, Seminaron Sino-German Jingzhou Ecological Demonstration City will be held on HubeiJingzhou Day. Also there will be signing ceremony, photographic exhibition,Jingzhou promotion event, Jingzhou cultural performance and exhibitions of Jingzhouintangible cultural heritage, giving a comprehensive introduction ofachievements by Jingzhou on opening up and horticultural development. TheSeminar is the main event, which will be held in meeting hall of TongxingSquare. Jingzhou promotion event will be held on lawn theater, also intangiblecultural heritage and folk products will be demonstrated there.
200 thousand people visitedin Hubei Day. It showcased Hubei’s practices in implementing Xi Jinping thoughton ecological civilization, new development philosophy, and guiding principlesof General Secretary Xi’s important addresses during his inspection visits to Hubei,concentratedly showed the achievements since Hubei opened up, faciliatedcommunication and cooperation between Hubei and exhibiting countries,comprehensively demonstrated progress made in green development and uniquecharm of Jing-Chu Culture and contributed to high-quality development of Hubei’sopen economy.
