This is not for Competition Equipment used by Athletes but covers some support and training equipment, that will be used in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games and Competition Venues. The equipment will be required for Test Events starting in summer 2011 through to the end of the Paralympic Games in 2012.

LOCOG is looking to identify suppliers who can supply standard equipment across multi sports with minimal lead times. The suggested model may be to agree pricing across all product ranges from a standard price list and to open an account with the supplier to call off equipment orders as required.

TfL_PRO1840 Bus Fire Investigation

TFL requires a Vehicles Specific Fire investigations service. A wide variety of buses are operating on TFL routes in London, these include a large number of conventional double deck and single deck buses, but also hybrid (Electrical) and hydrogen buses. TFL also still operate 250 articulated buses. In the past year approximately 30 fire incidents occurred of which 80% were to be investigated.

The Service Provider is expected to provide an experienced vehicle fire investigator prepared to attend Bus fires at short notice. Any fire investigation would take place at the relevant operating companys engineering depot, this giving an opportunity to view relevant documents, such as drivers reports and maintenance records. For complex incidents involving multiple buses or total burndown, preliminary findings or interim reports must be provided within 2-3 working days, while a complete and detailed technical report must be submitted within 5 working days for more ordinary incidents. TFL would expect the report to contain a summary of the causes of the fire, also any preventative recommendations.
