Huangshi climbs higher on China’s top 100 foreign trade cities list

  Huangshi, a city in central China’s Hubei Province, continued to make its presence on the list of China’s top 100 foreign trade cities for 11 year, climbing 33 spots to rank the 33rd among the Chinese cities in 2019, according to the magazine China Customs recently.

  In 2019, Huangshi completed imports and exports of 27.84 billion yuan, an increase of 12.3 percent, becoming the second largest in the province, and witnessed 52 new foreign trade export enterprises settled down. Enterprises developed overseas businesssuch as Huaxin Cement achieved a  turnover of 380 million U.S dollars in overseas projects, an increase of 35 percent.

  In addition, there were 19 foreign-invested enterprises were established in the city, with actual use of foreign capital of 220 million US dollars, an increase of 18.5 percent.

  In the first half of this year, the city raked in 4.43 billion yuan in exports despite the epidemic, a decrease of 17 percentage points from  the first quarter. Since March, the total volume picked up positive growth for four consecutive months.
