Wuhan, capital city of Hubei’s capital, was rated as China’s eighth competitive city in 2018, according to the 17th report released by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on June 24, 2019.
Using objective statistics from previous year, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences unveils the report in June every year after research and conducting analysis on the comprehensive competitiveness of 293 cities and the sustainable competitiveness of 287 cities.
According to the report, top 10 most competitive cities in 2018 are Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Taipei and Dongguan.
The chief editor of the report Ni Pengfei said the considerable economic increment, preferable livable environment, national-leading education and healthcare contributed to Wuhan’s ranking. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
