Added value of auto industry in Hubei up 4.3 pct in first eight months

  The added value of automobile industry in Hubei Province registered a cumulative increase of 4.3 percent in the first eight months of this year, local authorities said on October 4.

  In the first eight months, Hubei’s automobile output recorded a year-on-year growth of 5 percent to 1.282 million units, including 170,000 units of new energy vehicles, up 139.4 percent year on year.

  Dongfeng Motor Group, the largest automobile company in Hubei, has achieved remarkable results. From January to August, the monthly production and sales of Dongfeng Fengshen stood at 117,100 units, soaring by 94.13 percent and 90.24 percent, respectively.

  British sports and racing car producer Lotus Cars completed the construction of its new factory in Wuhan. And Dongfeng Motor's premium electric vehicle brand Voyah FREE was delivered to Norway on October 1, according to the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province.
