A freight train, loaded with 6.8 tones of international mail, left Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province on May 4, heading for Europe and countries along the Belt and Road.
Its departure marks the regular operation of international mail service provided by China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan).
With the advantages of simple procedures, frequent trips, fixed schedules and all-weather operation, the mail service is able to save about one-third logistics cost compared with air freight and cut the time to a half compared with cargo vessels.
As early as June 20, 2020, a China-Europe freight train carried 2.75 tones of mail from Wuhan to Europe for the first time.
