The UK-China Hydrogen Energy Cooperation Forum was held simultaneously in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province and Manchester, the United Kingdom, on April 28.
Hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester, the UK National Committee on China and the Great Britain-China Centre, the forum took place in both online and offline forms. Experts and scholars at home and abroad delivered keynote speeches on scientific research and industrial cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy.
At the forum, a cooperation memorandum on promoting the development of hydrogen energy industry was signed between Wuhan and Manchester.
According to the memorandum, on the principle of equality and mutual benefit, the two sides will advance the economic and social development, and conduct exchanges and cooperation in the hydrogen energy industry.
Wuhan and Manchester have established a sister city relationship for 36 years. At present, Wuhan boasts more than 40 hydrogen energy industry enterprises and research institutes, and strives to build a hydrogen energy industry cluster of 100 billion yuan. Manchester attaches great importance to the development of hydrogen energy. The hydrogen energy industries in the two cities enjoy different advantages and bright prospects of cooperation, said an official of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee .
