The Wuhan Digital Economy Development Institute was unveiled on April 24, in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
It is a think-tank jointly established by Wuhan Municipal Government and China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, with participation of well-known universities including Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and industry giants such as Fiberhome, Huawei, Tencent, and China Electronics.
The institute is expected to carry out research in the fields of digital infrastructure, digital industrialization, industrial digitization, data valuation and digital governance, as well as start first pilot research in data valuation, digital twin cities, digital technology empowerment of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and other fields.
