In 2021, the number of industrial small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) above the designated size in Hubei exceeded 16,000, hitting a new record high, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province said on Feb. 14.

  Hubei added 525 industrial SMEs above the designated size last year, bringing the total number to 16,002, accounting for 98.4 percent of industrial enterprises above the designated size.

  During the period, the province’s industrial SMEs above the designated size created a total of 1.8815 million jobs, and the revenues and profits of these enterprises rose by 18.7 percent and 18.2 percent, respectively.
