Zhao Haishan, vice governor of Hubei Province, met with a delegation headed by Eiji Tanaka, minister counselor of the Japanese Embassy in China on July 29, in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.
On behalf of the Hubei provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Zhao extended welcome to the delegation and conveyed greetings to the Japanese ambassador to China Hideo Tarumi. He pointed out that Hubei and Japan have maintained a long-term cooperative relationship in the fields of cultural exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation. During the COVID-19 outbreak, all walks of life from Japan extended a helping hand to Hubei, further deepening the friendship between the two sides.
Zhao added that Hubei has attached great importance to establishing long-term, extensive and in-depth cooperative relations with Japan. The province hopes to further expand exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science, education, and industry to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. As the national carbon emission registration system settled in Hubei, the province is ushering in a significant opportunity for green rising, and hopes to deepen cooperation with Japan in the green and low-carbon field, so as to jointly promote green development.
Tanaka Eiji stated that Hubei enjoys a solid foundation and broad prospects for the development of green and low-carbon industries. He voiced his willingness to deepen cooperation in low-carbon, new energy and big health.
