Hubei was ranked the 8th among the provincial-level areas in China with a score of 45.03 in manufacturing development level, according to CCID’s latest white book in late March.
The document has evaluated the manufacturing development level of China’s provincial-level areas in 2021 based on six main indicators including scale, innovation and quality.
As per the white book, the general manufacturing development level of China improved from a score of 36.67 in 2015 to 39.38 in 2019, and saw a significant rise in innovation, energy savings and firm capability.
Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang topped the rankings in the white book with scores of 81.23, 68.81, 61.80, respectively, followed by Beijing of 53.22 scores, Shandong of 53.17 scores, Shanghai of 49.95 scores, Fujian of 46.52 scores, Hubei of 45.03 scores, Hunan of 44.93 scores, and Anhui of 44.20 scores.
