Hubei and Alabama of the United States held a video conference  on March 9,  during which the two sides vowed to enhance cooperation in areas of new-energy automobile industry and health care. Zhao Haishan, vice governor of Hubei Province, attended the video conference and delivered a  speech.

  Zhao stated that Hubei enjoys rapid development of emerging industries, strong scientific and educational strength as well as location advantage. Hubei is confronted with new opportunities under the new development pattern. In 2020, the imports and exports of Hubei and the United States achieved two-way growth. China has become Alabama's second largest export market, which has laid a solid foundation for deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields.

  He pointed out that Hubei and Alabama have established sister relationships for 36 years. The two sides have maintained exchanges and cooperation in the fields of agriculture, science and technology as well as education. It is hoped that the two sides will further strengthen business contact and promote exchanges in areas of new-energy automobile industry, health care and aerospace industry, so as to push bilateral ties to a new level.

  Anthony Daniels, who serves as the Minority Leader in Alabama House of Representatives, expressed his hope that Hubei can enhance the export of medical supplies and promote pragmatic cooperation in the field of new-energy automobile industry, in an effort to create a new situation of friendly cooperation.
