On February 27, the local government of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture signed strategic cooperation agreements with Hubei Telecom, Hubei Mobile, Hubei Unicom as well as Hubei Radio and Television Information Network, so as to advance the construction and application of 5G technology.

  Four communication operators plan to invest 14.2 billion yuan within 5 years. By 2025, Enshi will build around 10,000 5G base stations.

  According to the agreements, four communication operators will focus on smart government affairs, smart medical care and smart cities, in an effort to promote the transformation of traditional fields and industries to become digital, networked and intelligent, through the application of technology such as big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.

  Enshi will see high-quality economic and social development, through the application scenarios of 5G technology, local authorities said.
