Two metro lines in Hubei's capital city of Wuhan, Phase II of Line 8 and Phase III of Line 11, passed safety assessment on December 20, marking they will be put into service soon.

  The Phase II of Line 8 stretches 17.6 kilometers with 12 stations. It starts from Liyuan Square Station and ends at  Yezhihu Station, running through Donghu Road, Xingguo South Road, Shuiguohuheng Road, Dongyi Road, Bayi Road, Luoshi Road, Wenxiang Street and Yezhihu West Road.

  The 3.7-km-long Phase III of Line 11 ends in Gedian, Ezhou city. It is Wuhan's first metro line that extends outside the city.
