Central China's Hubei Province launched a high-speed rail freight service on November 1, linking its capital city of Wuhan with Beijing, capital of China.
It is the first time that China has opened a high-speed railway logistics channel for bolstering the e-commerce network during China's annual Double Eleven shopping festival.
The trains will depart from Hankou Railway Station and Beijing West Railway Station at 5 a.m. and arrive at the destinations around 10 a.m. It will last from November 1 to December 28, according to an official of China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd.
"Different from the previous high-speed rail carrying passengers and cargo, the high-speed rail freight service is a new initiative launched for the rapid development of e-commerce," he said.
