In Hubei, China, the East Lake showcases a unique blend where mountains and rivers embrace each other, cities and lakes harmonize, and diverse cultures complement one another. This integration highlights Wuhan's characteristics, Hubei's unique style, and the grandeur of China. In central Europe, the rippling, misty, and mirror-like Lake Geneva embodies the romance of France and the leisurely charm of Switzerland. The two lakes are about to transcend geographical boundaries and conduct a dialogue themed "Discuss Green and Low-carbon Development, Create a Clean and Beautiful World Together" to stir up "ripples" in the cooperative development between the two regions.
From July 3 to 5, the International Cooperation Conference on Green, Low-carbon, and High-quality Development during the Two Lakes Dialogue 2024will be co-hosted by Hubei Hongtai Group, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and the China Chamber of International Commerce Hubei Chamber of Commerce along the East Lake in Wuhan.
The Two Lakes Dialogue, lasting three days, will feature opening and closing ceremonies, as well as three international cooperation matchmaking conferences focusing on green and low-carbon industries: new energy vehicles, clean energy, and sustainable agriculture. Additionally, there will be three international cooperation dialogues addressing carbon markets and carbon finance, carbon accounting and carbon footprint, and carbon emission reduction and industrial decarbonization. Nearly 500 guests from around the world will attend the event, including senior leaders of WBCSD, diplomatic envoys to China, senior executives of multinational companies and international cooperation organizations, distinguished experts and scholars, and heads of key enterprises and relevant government departments.
At the opening ceremony, senior executives of international organizations and multinational companies such as WBCSD, Panasonic, and Mercedes-Benz will deliver speeches on international industrial cooperation and green and low-carbon development.
During the event, foreign guests will visit Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. and China Carbon Emissions Registration and Clearing Co., Ltd. to observe Hubei's achievements in the new energy vehicle industry and carbon market construction, experience Hubei's open and friendly business environment, and discuss opportunities for win-win cooperation in green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.
The "integration" of East Lake and Lake Geneva serves not only as a platform for exchanges but also as a powerful engine to boost cooperation between the two regions. Negotiations, exchanges, and industrial cooperation will be carried out focusing on the development of key industries and carbon markets in Hubei Province. These efforts aim to empower investment promotion, support Hubei enterprises in going global, strengthen Hubei's "carbon business card", cultivate new quality productivity, and promote the green transformation of production and lifestyles. Ultimately, these initiatives will contribute to building a beautiful Hubei and advancing the practice of China's modernization.
