Co-sponsored by Hubei Provincial People's Government and the Consulate General of South Korea in Wuhan, the "2022 Hubei China • Korea Friendship Week" was opened in the morning of November 17th in Wuhan with objectives to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of Korea, review the history of friendly exchanges and cooperation between our province and the Republic of Korea since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, and further deepen the friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between Hubei and the Republic of Korea. Chung Jae-ho, the Korean ambassador to China, Xing Haiming, the Chinese ambassador to South Korea, and Park Jeong, a member of the Korean National Assembly, attended the opening ceremony online and delivered video speeches. Zhao Haishan, the vice governor of Hubei province, and Kang Seung-seok, the Korean consul general in Wuhan, attended the event and made speeches.
"Friendship of the Han River" Hubei China • South Korea Locality Friendship and Cooperation Forum hosted by CCPIT Hubei is one of the most important special economic and trade activities of this "Korea Week". At the forum, Sang Hun Lee, chief representative of the Korea Foreign Economic Policy Research Institute Beijing Office, Dr. Han Chengxun, a senior researcher at the China Green Development Research Institute of Tianjin University, Zhang Shuoyuan, the deputy general manager of China-Korea (Wuhan) Petrochemical Co., Ltd., and Zhang Yuping, deputy general manager of GEM Co., Ltd., Fu Zhineng, a researcher at the Hubei Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, and other guests shared new opportunities for China-Korea cooperation, the review and outlook of the 30-year economic cooperation between Hubei and Korea, new energy industry cooperation, and the development experience of Korean-funded enterprises in Hubei. Li Gan, deputy mayor of Jingzhou city, Nam Gilwoo, chief representative of Chungcheongbuk Province Shanghai Office, and Si Byung Yun, chief representative of Gumi City China Office, made introductions on the situation of the province and the city respectively. Honghu city in Jingzhou and Buan-gun county, Jeollabuk-do, Korea signed an agreement on the establishment of a sister city relationship and officially became sister cities. This is also the ninth pair of sister cities between Hubei province and Korea.
In the exhibition activities of "Chu Style and Korean Rhyme" held at the same time, CCPIT Hubei opened a special section of "Jingchu Boutique" to display the featured products, which won unanimous praise from the guests from home and abroad.
