Official data released on Jan. 8, 2026 showed that both the import and export container volume and cargo throughput at the Yangluo Port in Wuhan, Hubei Province, reached record highs in 2025.

In 2025, the port’s import and export container volume exceeded 600,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) for the first time, reaching 601,000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 3.8 percent.

The total cargo throughput reached 8.833 million tonnes, rising by 4.8 percent year on year.

With Yangluo Port as the main part, the ports in Wuhan handled a total container throughput of 1.95 million TEUs throughout the year of 2025, ranking first in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
